Large websites will display loading icon to protest for net neutrality on Internet Slowdown Day

  1. The FCC is proposing new laws to regulate internet providers.
  2. Most recent laws allow providers to create “fast lanes.”
  3. This means if you want your site to load fast, you pay more.
  4. Big sites can afford this. Smaller sites cannot.
  5. Reddit, Netflix, Imgur, and other large sites are protesting.
  6. On September 10, they will display a loading icon.
  7. The sites will not actually slow down.
