Iran fires shots at cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz.

A Danish cargo ship has been detained by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz.

  1. The Strait of Hormuz is a major international shipping lane.
  2. On Tues, Iran intercepted a Danish cargo ship in the strait.
  3. Iran says the ship, the Maersk Tigris, had “peculiar activity.”
  4. When the ship refused to stop, Iran fired shots over it.
  5. The ship then complied and was escorted to a port city.
  6. There are 24 people on board. All are safe and doing well.
  7. This comes as Iran is involved in a few international situations.
  8. Iran is in nuclear talks with the US and 5 other nations.
  9. Iran is holding a US reporter and charging him with espionage.
  10. Saudi Arabia has accused Iran of aiding Houthi Rebels.
