NASA telescope observes light bending

NASA telescope photographs black hole

  1. NASA’s NuSTAR telescope photographs black holes.
  2. It found a very unique black hole called Markarian 335.
  3. It is unique because it is near a light source: a corona.
  4. Coronas emit X-rays, which NuSTAR can see.
  5. NuSTAR has photographed X-rays being sucked into the black hole.
  6. Scientists now have an incredible view of Einstein’s theory of general relativity at work.
  7. Markarian 335 spins so fast that space and time bend.
