Amazing drug saves 2 Americans’ lives

Update on the Ebola outbreak in West Africa

 

  1. 2 American aid workers contracted the Ebola virus in Liberia.
  2. They were given an extremely experimental drug that had not been tested on humans or approved by the FDA.
  3. The drug is called ZMapp. It has only been tested on monkeys.
  4. The drug may have saved their lives.
  5. Both aid workers are in Atlanta receiving treatment.
  6. They are the only 2 known Ebola-infected humans ever to be treated in the US.
