UPDATE: The Immigration Story

Shaun Keating News Feather Story 2014

Unsurprisingly, Congress does nothing

bill to address immigration stalls in the house and senate

  1. The House and Senate each have solutions to the border and immigration crisis.
  2. House Republicans called off a vote for their $659 million bill because of internal quarrelling.
  3. Senate Democrats couldn’t muster enough votes to move their $2.7 billion immigration bill to the floor for a vote.
  4. Both parties agree the flood of Central American immigrants is a humanitarian crisis.
  5. Congress is now on vacation until after Labor Day.
  6. Without a bill from either house, President Obama will likely act on his own.
