Marathon 17-hour peace talks result in ceasefire.

1. Violence in Eastern Ukraine has been ongoing since 2013.
2. Pro-Russian Separatists are fighting Ukrainian forces.
3. It has displaced 1.5 million people & killed 5k, mostly civilians.
4. There was a ceasefire deal in Sept. 2014 which broke down.
5. This new deal, mediated by Germany and France, is similar.
6. It includes “special status” for Pro-Russian areas.
7. Both sides will release prisoners. Ukraine regains its border.
8. All sides agreed to the deal which will begin February 15th.
